Perinatal Psychology

At MIWM, our psychologists work with individuals and couples who are planning or trying to conceive, navigating pregnancy, adjusting to life with a new baby, or moving through the many emotional and relational shifts that parenthood brings. This season of life can be transformative, tender and at times overwhelming. Our psychologists offer a compassionate, thoughtful space where you feel supported to explore both the challenges and the growth that can emerge.

We provide therapeutic support for antenatal and postnatal anxiety and depression, birth trauma, fertility challenges, assisted conception journeys, and experiences of grief and loss, including miscarriage and infant loss. We also support parents who are experiencing difficulties with infant bonding, heightened stress, relationship strain, or the complex identity transitions that accompany matrescence and patrescence.

Our work is grounded in attachment science and relational frameworks, recognising that wellbeing is deeply connected to our relationships with our children, our partners and ourselves. Therapy is tailored to your individual needs and may draw on evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based practices and other trauma-informed modalities. Babies are always welcome in session.
