Dr Aqeela Kukkady

Dr Aqeela is a GP Registrar with a warm, compassionate approach and a strong passion for women’s health, sexual and reproductive health, and children’s health. She is committed to providing supportive, patient-centred care and enjoys building long-term relationships with patients through all stages of life.

With experience in contraception counselling, Implanon insertions, and supporting women seeking medical termination services, Dr Aqeela has a particular interest in helping women feel informed, empowered, and cared for in their healthcare decisions. She also enjoys antenatal and postnatal care, paediatrics, and supporting families during the transition into parenthood.

As a mother of two young children herself, Dr Aqeela understands both personally and professionally the challenges that can come with pregnancy, early motherhood, and feeding journeys. Following her own experiences, she developed a strong interest in breastfeeding medicine and is currently undertaking further training in this area. She is passionate about providing kind, evidence-based breastfeeding support to help families feel confident and supported during the early stages of parenting.

Dr Aqeela also has extensive experience supporting patients with mental health concerns and prides herself on creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgemental space where patients feel heard and supported.

Outside of work, Dr Aqeela enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, and listening to music. She loves to travel, whether it's exploring local gems or venturing internationally!

See Dr Aqeela at MIWM on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for Face-to-Face or Telehealth consultations, starting in August!
